‘Rapping with Paul White’ mix by House Shoes
As I sit hear listening to my recently purchased Oscar Peterson record with one ear appreciating his mind-blowing, sometimes one-handed piano flurries, the other ear keenly tuned in for any possible chops, I wonder what Paul White listens to in his spare time. One of my favourite contemporary hip hop producers, known for blurring boundaries and progressively becoming more and more abstract through his last few releases, I wonder again if he has pulled it back into line with his forthcoming release ‘Rapping With Paul White’ which has been referred too by label One Handed Music as a ‘rap record’.
Featuring artists such as Guilty Simpson, Jehst, Marv Won, Danny Brown and Homeboy Sandman to mention a few, I’m more than sure that it is much more than just a ‘rap record’.I’m deviating from the point here somewhat, which is that in case you’d like a preview a mix has been constructed by legendary hip hop dj House Shoes featuring choice cuts off the LP and more.
