Ok, so we missed Valentine’s Day but who believes in that anyway? Ahem, well myself and Feras Ibrahim were actually planning on a similar Valentine’s special release but due to work commitments couldn’t get it finished in time, which is why Wally Clark’s ‘Lovers Lane’ is a suitable replacement.
Lovers Lane is a collection of love songs, created by Gummy Soul founder Wally Clark. Inspired by 50s doo wop, Clark set out to capture the innocence of young love and to give couples a fun, yet sincere soundtrack for their Valentine’s Day.
“Most hip hop love songs, usually fall into one of two categories,” says Clark. “Either they’re misogynistic and overly sexual, or they’re corny and softer than Cupid’s crack. I wanted to make something that was sweet, but not soft.”
So take a drive with your sweetheart. Buy her a shake at the soda shop. Hold her hand, and open the door for her. And maybe you will have your goodnight kiss down at Lovers Lane.
